Trade week day four: Prepare for D-Day
Posted by Brent DiamondOct 8. 2009 8:34 pmCARLTON and Brisbane Lions are preparing for what could be a last minute decision for Brendan Fevola to become a Lion in a swap that would see Daniel Bradshaw and Michael Rischitelli become Blues.
But is understood the Blues are worried about Bradshaw’s medical report and also must convince Rischitelli to return to Victoria after knocking back a deal with Essendon two years ago.
A deal is moving for a three way between Hawthorn, Essendon and Port Adelaide for Shaun Burgoyne.
It means the Hawks will give up forward Mark Williams to Essendon for pick 26 and forward picks 9 and 26 to the Power.
Hawthorn also believe it can secure a ruckman in the national draft – available are Brisbane Lions Joel MacDonald who wants to return to Victoria – and Collingwood’s Josh Fraser.
Geelong’s Shane Mumford is expected to sign a lucrative four year deal at Sydney tomorrow.
Darren Jolly was the biggest name traded on day four as the former Swan became a Magpie for picks 14 and 46.
In other developments:
St Kilda’s Luke Ball is in limbo with Collingwood unable to find a trade for the former Saints captain.
However, it is apparent the Western Bulldogs could be the saviour in a three way deal that would see the Saints receive Andrejs Everitt.
Geelong is expected to lose midfielder David Wojcinski in either a trade or draft period after not fitting in the Cats salary cap.
Richmond is expected to snare Western Bulldogs ruckman Wayde Skipper, while Fremantle’s Marcus Drum is expected to become a Hawk.
