What our experts say:

Daniel Paproth

Geelong vs Essendon
Huge match for both teams here. Geelong’s loss to Collingwood last Saturday night was somewhat lessened after quarter time; but the result was already a formality with the Pies kicking eight goals to two in the first term.

Essendon’s victory against Port Adelaide put them back on the right track, and while they are sixth, they are still only a win and significant percentage off top spot of the ladder.

A win here for the Bombers could potentially put them back in the top four, depending on results, and a loss for the Cats will drop them back to the chasing pack, possibly out of the top eight and finals contention.

Essendon by 12

Max Prophet, Footy Punter

Geelong ($2.05) vs. Essendon ($1.80):
Really looking forward to this match. If the first 16 rounds have taught us anything, the Bombers should be too quick across the ground for the Cats, who have really struggled to play with the intensity we’ve expected of them all year. To think it will come tonight might be clutching at straws, but then again, we all know how teams perform when their backs are to the wall and the Bombers haven’t exactly been sure things of late. Crameri and Monfries are great inclusions for them.

Suggested bet: Bombers over 15.5 points @ $2.50
