What our experts say:

Daniel Paproth

Collingwood vs Carlton
Hard to believe that back in Round 3 Carlton handed Collingwood a 60-point loss. They were immediately installed as premiership favourites, and it looked like after years of struggle, rebuilding and sloganeering, the Blues were the real deal.

Since then however, Collingwood has won 10 consecutive games, while Carlton has slipped to 10thon the ladder with a 6-7 record – they were 5-1 after six rounds and have lost six of their past seven games.

With the Magpies looking in terrific touch it’s hard to predict anything but a right royal belting here. Good news for the Blues is Marc Murphy could be back sooner than expected, but it could be too little too late by then.

Max Prophet, Footy Punter

Collingwood ($1.21) vs. Carlton ($4.65):
No Pendles, but no worries I suspect. A lot has changed since a round three thumping (60 pts) which propelled the Blues to outright premiership favourites (now $67). No doubt injuries have significantly contributed to their demise, but it is just as obvious they have a natural imbalance of one dimensional players and a stagnant game plan as a result. This was evident against the Hawks last week and I fear they will be exposed in similar fashion on Friday night as well. Conversely, the Pies have not looked back since that ill-fated game, having won every contest to assume top spot on the ladder. No doubting the winner here.

Suggested bet: Pies to win at the margin (40+) @ $2.40
