Football Nation’s daily feature, Monday through to Friday, providing our readers with a quick update of news from around the league.

Adelaide:
Brenton Sanderson has guaranteed under-fire forward Jason Porplyzia will play against Fremantle at Patersons Stadium on Saturday.

Brisbane:
Lions coach Michael Voss will back a group of unheralded youngsters to fill the void left by injured veteran Simon Black when the ladder-leading West Coast Eagles visit the Gabba on Sunday.

Carlton:
The club will persist with its three-ruckmen trial against Port Adelaide on Saturday, but could enter without a trio of key-position stars.

Collingwood:

Essendon:
The Bombers are unsure whether in-form forward Stewart Crameri will be fit for Saturday night’s AFL match against Melbourne.

Geelong:
Will the Cats trade away a star?

Gold Coast:
Suns captain Gary Ablett has no regrets over manhandling young teammate Rory Thompson, saying he’d use the tactic again in a bid to inspire the AFL battlers.

Greater Western Sydney:
Simonds Stadium in Geelong is one of the hardest places for a visiting team to play. But for GWS Giants youngsters Devon Smith and Taylor Adams it will be a welcome trip home to a place that moulded their budding careers.

Hawthorn:
Hawks midfielders Liam Shiels and Clinton Young will both be fit for Saturday’s clash with North Melbourne in Launceston.

Melbourne:
Defender Jared Rivers has scoffed at rumours suggesting the playing group is unhappy with coach Mark Neeld.

North Melbourne:

Port Adelaide:
Travis Boak will play for either Port Adelaide or Geelong next season. And the decision – to be made on a return home to Victoria during the Power’s mid-season break in a fortnight – hinges solely on his family’s needs.

Richmond:
Richmond’s boom ruck recruit Ivan Maric says faith and opportunity are the keys to his remarkable form upsurge with the Tigers this AFL season.

St Kilda:
With a break out game and career high 29 disposals on the weekend, young Saints midfielder David Armitage believes that consistency is all that stands between him and his ability to make a significant impact in the competition.

Sydney Swans:
Swans defender Alex Johnson has been cleared of any serious damage after suffering a knock to the elbow during a clash with St Kilda forward Nick Riewoldt in last weekend’s match against St Kilda.

West Coast:
Eagles coach John Worsfold says midfielder Luke Shuey let the team down by getting suspended for an off-the-ball hit.

Western Bulldogs:
Breaking a personal best on the bench press just last week, utility Andrew Hooper believes he is fitter, stronger and more focused than ever before.
