Brett Ratten has never tasted victory as a coach against Hawthorn but he feels the Blues are on track to break an eight-game losing streak against the premiership favourites.

Collingwood:
Nathan Buckley has warned any out-of-contract player who demands too much may be forced out of the club as the Magpies try to squeeze their stars under the AFL’s salary cap.

Essendon:
A leading talent scout yesterday recalled watching a “fat kid with floppy hair” playing full-forward for Vic Metro in the national under-16 championships. Jobe Watson seemed so out of place some were wondering if his famous surname had helped him get a game.

Fremantle:

Greater Western Sydney:
GWS midfielder Taylor Adams must serve a six-month diversion order for an assault outside a Geelong nightclub which left a victim with a broken jaw.

Hawthorn:
Having extended the contracts of captains past and present in recent days, Hawthorn will now turn its attention to finalising negotiations with star midfielder Brad Sewell.

Melbourne:
On the back of a two-game win streak, Melbourne received more good news as young Demon Tom McDonald has received the NAB Rising Star nomination for Round 13.

Rookie-listed ruckman Majak Daw hopes he’s close to earning an elevation to the senior list that will enable him to play his first AFL game.

Port Adelaide:
Power defender Troy Chaplin says it would be an honour to captain the club against Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Sunday.

Richmond:
Tigers defender Bachar Houli says he quit Essendon because he believed he was being made a scapegoat for the club’s poor performances during Matthew Knights’ final year as coach.

Bulldogs Chief Executive, Simon Garlick, has hosed down recent speculation about mid-season crowd numbers for the Club.
