Billie Smedts is the obvious one. He has had a terrific pre-season and ready to step up. Already one of the favourites for the Rising Star. Joel Selwood will thrive with the captaincy. Mitch Duncan is an improving midfielder. He should cement his spot. And we love Orren Stephenson. He will be a regular and a cheapie.
2. Billie Smedts – Highly-regarded utility was troubled by injuries last season. Will start off in VFL ranks. Can play on the ball, in attack or defence.
3. Jimmy Bartel – Accomplished midfielder netted the Norm Smith Medal on grand final after another commanding performance. An outstanding
14. Joel Selwood (c) – The new skipper has a fearless attack on the ball and silky-skilled. A four-game suspension was only blemish last year.
22. Mitch Duncan – Young midfielder who is clean with his disposal and quick off the mark. Started grand final as a sub and showed plenty. On the rise.
23. Orren Stephenson – Experienced ruckman who has been the best big man in the VFL for some time. A surprise pick but a logical one to fill the void of Ottens.
26. Tom Hawkins – A mammoth performance in the second half of the grand final may be the making of this strong marking forward. Potential champion on the rise.
28. Allen Christensen – Exciting young talent blessed with speed and goal smarts. Starred in the finals series and looks to have a long-term spot in the line-up.
29. Cameron Guthrie – Running defender who is set for more game time this year after only two appearances last season. Fits the bill at AFL level. Can go forward.
30. Matthew Scarlett – Defensive back-bone who was at his supreme best last year. A triple premiership player and six-time All-Australian, need we say more?
34. Simon Hogan – Classy ball-winner who spent half of the season on the sidelines battling depression. Will be a tagger this season.
35. Paul Chapman – Nuggety on-baller who says the team carried him to a flag last year. Highly-driven and pivotal to a match-winning line-up.
