We like the look of Fasolo this year. He has heaps of improvement left in him after showing so much last year. Dale Thomas is a fan favourite but also a fantasy footy favourite.
I like Josh Thomas as one that will possibly step up this year. A good stocking filler.
1. Alex Fasolo – Small forward with blistering pace.
Burst onto the scene against Melbourne on Queen’s Birthday and never looked
back. Exciting times ahead.
12. Luke Ball – Midfielder has blossomed in his time as a
Pie. Hawk fans will never forget the match-winning goal he kicked to pinch that
preliminary final.
13.Dale Thomas – Popular midfielder excelled mid way
through the season to the point where Ross Lyon mused that he may be the best
in the competition. May be heading there.
14. Luke Rounds – Emerging midfielder finally got a taste
of AFL last season. Narrowly missed the boat on finals selection but definitely
on the rise.
21. Sharrod Wellingham – Slippery wingman is one of the
clubs best tacklers. After a fine regular season, his standards slipped in the
last two finals. Will be eager to rebound this year.
22. Steele Sidebottom – Tenacious tackler began the
season well but his output faded in second half. Was one of the better Pies in
grand final loss with 23 touches and two goals.
24. Josh Thomas – Hard-at-it midfielder again suffered
more injuries. Finished the VFL season on a high being named best in four of
the last six matches. On track for a debut.
39. Heath Shaw – Damaging defender began year winning
Michael Tuck Medal before being banned for 14 matches for a gambling
controversy. Didn’t miss a beat on return.
