NORTH Melbourne’s sudanese talent Majak Daw has been named in Sunday’s NAB Cup clash against Geelong and the Western Bulldogs.

Daw, from Wyndham Vale in Melbourne’s West, has developed his game and gained some physical power since being snared in the 2009 AFL rookie draft by the Roos.

He played sparingly in the ruck for VFL affiliate Werribee over the course of last season before suffering a leg injury that kept him sidelined for a couple of months.

The youngster is an intimidating force and likely to be an exciting addition to the Roos line-up on Sunday. It is widely thought that he will breakthrough for his AFL debut this season following another bumper pre-season in the gym.

Daw is the first of sudanese descent to play AFL football. He is already a hero to many in his community and what he does on the football field from here on will be a bonus.
