A standoff between the AFL and Football Federation Australia over the use of Telstra Dome has been resolved.

An unlikely double booking had been made at the venue, with the A-League Grand Final featuring Melbourne Victory and the Collingwood vs Richmond NAB cup match both scheduled for Saturday, February 28.

The AFL, after publicly expressing its belief that it had priority booking, will shift the NAB cup clash to Thursday, February 26.

The matter had been complicated by an ongoing dispute between the AFL and the Telstra Dome board over the deals between Telstra Dome and AFL clubs.

It is understood Channel 10, which has broadcast rights for the NAB cup match, lobbied the AFL to avert moving the game.

Ben Cousins is likely to make his debut for Richmond in the match, which starts at 7.10pm AEDT.

NAB Cup nothing game vs. the grand final of the national soccer league… not much of an issue you wouldn’t have thought.
