AFL Round 13: Match of the Round
Posted by Brent DiamondJun 18. 2010 5:38 amCarlton v Fremantle, Saturday night at Etihad Stadium
A TOP four spot is on the line when the Blues confront Freo on Saturday night in the game of the round – week one.
The Blues missed an opportunity for a top four spot with their dismal performance against North Melbourne last Friday night.
They could make amends for that if they topple the Dockers – who have been in brilliant form even away from home this season.
Carlton’s structure with be knocked around with Setanta o’hAilpin sidelined with a calf injury and will be hoping Lachie Henderson has a night out after some impressive form in the VFL.
Exciting speedster Chris Yarran also returns for the Blues, as does defender Paul Bower.
The Blues will need all their weapons firing if they are going to topple the Dockers who have been in brilliant form with Matthew Pavlich proving that he is more than a key forward; Michael Barlow continues to shine and Brownlow votes are well and truly on his way; while Aaron Sandilands is really pivotal as he provides his midfielders with plenty of possessions.
This one will go right to the wire.
Tip: Carlton by 8 points
