THE WEST COAST EAGLES will get one of their best players back this weekend when Daniel Kerr takes the field against Port Adelaide this Saturday.

With a slew of injuries, the dynamic 28 year old midfielder was only a part time player last year when the Eagles surged from a 16th place finish in 2010 to a top four finish in 2011. While Kerr played in both of the Eagles’ finals matches, he finished the year with finger surgery during the off-season. Tomorrow’s game will be his first action for 2012.

In an interview published on WestCoastEagles.com.au, coach John Worsfold says ”It’s about getting the game time we want into certain players in this game rather than playing them in the WAFL, but making sure they get enough time. At this stage the aim is that [Kerr] will play two-and-a-half quarters.”

Also joining Kerr on the field tomorrow for the first time this preseason will be Will Schofield and Scott Selwood who have been included as they too ramp up their preparation for the April 1 commencement of the home and away series.
