Waite could be over

CARLTON forward Jarrad Waite is in line to make his AFL return against Sydney on Sunday after starring in the VFL for the Northern Blues.
Blues development coach Darren Harris said Waite will be in contention for a return, perhaps sooner rather than later.
“To be able to still run in his first one back and keep the pressure on, we were really happy with his performance today and it’s encouraging,” Harris said.
“I think that will be up to match committee but he’s definitely given the club something to think about,” he said.
Waite has suffered from back and hip injuries and has been forced to take epidural injections to get his body back up to scratch for the remainder of the season.
There was lingering doubt about Waite’s return this season after he withdrew from the VFL line-up last week with groin soreness.
“With the way that we’ve managed his lead in to play and not play him until he’s ready, I think the medical staff got that pretty right today and he’s worked hard,” he said.
