UPDATE: COLLINGWOOD defender Heath Shaw faces a 14 week ban with a six week suspended penalty for provision of inside information after a betting scandal today rocked the club.

He will be suspended for a total of eight matches but the other six remain a suspended penalty.

He has been fined $20,000 after passing on information to friends for a $15 bet on skipper Nick Maxwell to kick the first goal of last week’s match.

Maxwell has also been fined $10,000 after it was declared that one of his family members had also placed a bet on him.

The ban ends Shaw’s home and away season – but will be available for finals – and puts a massive dent in the Pies premiership bid for back to back.
