ST KILDA proved to be gutsy in its 28-point win over Collingwood on Friday night at the MCG after skipper Nick Riewoldt went down with perhaps could be a season ending hamstring injury.

Coach Ross Lyon praised the resilience of the Saints after their 10.9 (69) to 4.17 (41) win.

“I thought it was a magnificent effort – everything was thrown at us, and we responded like good teams do,” Lyon said.

“The merit of the four points under extreme adversity… was really valuable for the belief.”
