PORT ADELAIDE held off a fast finishing North Melbourne to win by 14-points at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.

The Power led by 50-points in the third term before the Roos steamed home with nine goals in the 13.18 (96) to 12.10 (82) result.

“We stuck at it all day. We smashed North at the inside-50s (65-42) and I thought if we had taken our opportunities and kicked a bit straighter the game might’ve been a little less close at the end”, he said.

“We’re thrilled about winning our first game. It was great to have four young players playing their first game and not too many teams can do that.”
