Former Kangaroos coach Dean Laidley is set to help out at Port Adelaide, but Power coach Mark Williams has said there probably won’t be a fulltime appointment.

Laidley, who stood down from his position at North Melbourne two weeks ago, is expected to meet Williams this week for discussions about how he could help out the Power’s football department.

It is understood that Port Adelaide’s limited financial situation will prevent the club from offering Laidley a formal position, but he will most likely assist there in some capacity before taking up employment elsewhere.

At present, it is not known what role Laidley is likely to play at Alberton.

West Coast coach John Worsfold has made overtures about getting Laidley onboard fulltime at the Eagles.
