LINDSAY Thomas’ seven goals was a career high but overall it was North Melbourne’s ability to shrug off too Carlton comebacks to win by 29-points on Friday night.

The Kangaroos are now 6-6 and are in the mix for the September action at the half way mark.

Coach Brad Scott should be lauded for his brilliant performance thus far to get the Kangaroos back into a position where it can bounce into the finals.

A spot in the top eight would be a massive surprise to the football world given most football pundits had the Kangas in the bottom five.

He has put his stars into the thrust of things to excite fans.

“We let Daniel Wells go head to head with Chris Judd, I’m very big on getting players with outstanding talents to move within a structure…the structural side can be over rated a little bit,” Scott said on SEN on Saturday.

North Melbourne, for the first time this season, can be excited heading into the second half of the season that finals could be on the radar.
