Sam Blease Rising Star Nomination Round 20 2012MELBOURNE’S Sam Blease has continued his rise to redemption with the Round 20 AFL Rising Star nomination.

After the first round of the 2012 season Blease, 21, was unceremoniously dropped from the seniors list before making his way back in Round 8. His return was completed with his five goal performance Round 20 performance against St Kilda in a losing effort.

This is Blease’s second Rising Star nomination but the first for this year, having taking the gong in Round 23 last year.

When asked about his comeback into the seniors after Round 8 Blease said “There’s always that bit of uncertainty about where you stand with a new coaching group coming in. I’ve really tried to embrace it a lot more in the second half of the year.”

“I’ve been able to hold my spot and I’ve really enjoyed playing footy under Neeldy, we’ve just got to hopefully jell better as a team and hopefully the success will follow,” he said.

Blease will have a chance to continue his run of form this weekend when the Demons take on the GWS Giants at Manuka Oval (Canberra) this Saturday.
