ST KILDA ruckman Steven King will face a fitness test this week to determine whether he will return for Friday night’s blockbuster against Geelong which will be telecast live on Channel Seven.
King returned from a hamstring injury for Sandringham in the VFL last week with coach Andy Lovell saying that he got through the game without being impressive.
Saints football manager Greg Hutchison said that King would be in the selection frame along with another Saints ruckman Adam Pattison.
“We haven’t got to that stage yet. We know that he got through the game ok on the weekend and he trained this week and he’ll train next week,” Hutchison said.
“They both got through the game pretty well. It was King’s first game back from a hamstring injury so the report was he got through the game Ok and he pulled up Ok,” he said.
Meanwhile Geelong young forward Mitch Brown is making an impression at the Cattery after booting five goals in the VFL last week.
Cats football manager Neil Balme said: “We’re happy to have him back in the side. He’s missed a fair bit of his preparation obviously. He’s got a fair way to go of course.”
“He’s only played two games this year and he only played about a handful last year so he’s got a lot of work to do before he gets himself a real chance to play but we’re pleased with what he’s doing,” he said.
