GOLD Coast captain Gary Ablett is likely to miss the next two to three weeks but is confident of returning sooner according to his latest Twitter update.

Ablett landed awkwardly and suffered a knee injury in the loss to the Brisbane Lions on Saturday night.

It not only a massive blow to the Suns – but also to Supercoach and DreamTeams around the country – with many having Ablett as their skipper mainly because of his brilliant start to the season. He posted a history making 40-plus disposals in three consecutive matches for the Suns.

He finished with 33 disposals against the Lions on the weekend.

Ablett tweeted this morning: “Great result nothing serious doc thinks 2-3 weeks but I think I’m confident I can get back earlier..”

The Suns are yet to win a game this season and they will do it tough without their inspirational skipper.
