Menzel suffers another knee injury

GEELONG forward Daniel Menzel has suffered another knee injury in the third term of today’s VFL clash against North Ballarat at Simonds Stadium.
Menzel was stretchered off and appeared shattered at what could be another ACL injury. It was his return match from the ACL injury he suffered in a qualifying final against Hawthorn last season.
He made a swift recovery after only nine months and Cats coach Chris Scott earmarked his return to the AFL ranks as soon as next week.
It is believed not to be the same knee as the original injury. He injured his right knee last September and it is believed to be his left knee this time around.
Menzel had been playing well and had slotted a couple of goals and was taking some strong grabs in the first half.
Menzel will be taken for scans today in order to determine the extent of the damage.
We will have all the latest news in our Around the VFL grounds LIVE segment from 2pm.
