Fremantle midfielder Byron Schammer will line up against the Hawks this weekend after successfully escaping a one-week suspension.

Schammer had been offered a one-match ban for striking Carlton onballer Marc Murphy in the Saturday night game at the Gold Coast.

But it took the AFL Tribunal only 10 minutes to conclude that the contact made by Schammer was not forceful enough to constitute a strike.

Schammer told the panel that his action was not a strike, it was more of a jumper pull and Murphy had staged for a free kick.

Fremantle hosts Hawthorn at Subiaco on Friday night.
