Fremantle 2009 Preview
Posted by Football NationFeb 17. 2009 3:26 pmFremantle was a team under heavy pressure in 2008, winning only six games and missing out on several others due to last quarter fadeouts.
The club faces a tough start to 2009, with games against the Western Bulldogs, St Kilda, Adelaide and Sydney inside the first five rounds.
But the Dockers have spent some time rejuvenating over summer – including coordinating a development camp in South Africa – and have added no less than eight new draftees to its ranks.
There is plenty of excitement surrounding electric left-footer Stephen Hill, but expect nippy forward Hayden Ballantyne and midfielder Chris Hall to get some game time too.
Assistant coaches Todd Curley and Barry Mitchell start at Fremantle in 2009, having previously coached in the WAFL and VFL respectively.
