ESSENDON midfielder Brent Prismall made an encouraging return from an ACL injury with 15 touches for Bendigo against Sandringham at Queen Elizabeth Oval, in his first hit-out since round 19 last year.
Prismall started on the bench for the opening term and played the remaining three quarters.
“Pris did well for his first game back. We didn’t expect anything from him. He found a bit of the footy and his skill was really good especially by foot,” Bombers development coach Hayden Skipworth said.
Defender Tayte Pears was best on ground in defence and appears set to return to bolster Essendon’s defence against Hawthorn on Friday night.
Travis Colyer was impressive in the midfield and Jason Winderlich got through another game unscathed, playing three quarters.
However, the Bombers suffered a blow with veteran midfielder Mark McVeigh understood to have suffered a back-related injury.
“He’s a bit tight so we took the safer option. I don’t think he’s done anything but we’ll wait and see,” Bombers development coach Hayden Skipworth said.
NORTH Melbourne forward Aaron Edwards will be in the mix for a recall after starring for North Ballarat with four goals, 27 disposals and 12 marks.
CARLTON forward Jarrad Waite withdrew from yesterday’s VFL hit-out for the Northern Blues but is expected to be in the mix for a return from injury next week.
