James HirdGuest contributor RowdyOne continues his series looking at each club’s best 22 players for the upcoming 2013 season.

Suddenly we all know far more about “peptides” than we ever thought we would.

This off-season for the Bombers has indeed been tough and the recent controversy that has surrounded the club has overshadowed an off-season that saw the club sign Brendan Goddard in free agency and then pick up highly fancied father/son draft selection Joe Daniher.

A fast start last year crumbled under an accumulation of soft-tissue injuries and now with the off-field distractions the pressure will be on for the club to maintain its focus as it seeks to quiet the sceptics and demonstrate their ability to contend for a finals spot.

Key Personnel Questions for the Bombers:

Last year Jobe Watson completed his transformation from being a player on the bubble to being a legitimate superstar. Can he repeat the performance  of his stellar Brownlow Medal season from last year?

Scott Gumbleton has had more than his share of injury setback and can he get his body right and play a major role for the Bombers this year?

The marquee signing of the inaugural free agency class was Brendan Goddard. Will he be able to justify his hefty pay packet and become a force for the Bombers after transferring from the Saints?

Will James Hird be able to have the Bombers focussed on playing good footy after a tumultuous Pre-season and with the Stephen Dank/drug scandal hanging over their heads?

Here’s my take on the top 22 for the Bombers:

B: Dustin Fletcher, Cale Hooker, Michael Hibberd

HB: Courtney Dempsey, Jake Carlisle, Kyle Hardingham

C:  Dyson Heppell, Brendon Goddard, David Zaharakis

HF: Stewart Crameri, Michael Hurley, Jake Melksham

F: Paddy Ryder, Scott Gumbleton, Leroy Jetta

Foll: Tom Bellchambers, Jobe Watson,  Brent Stanton

Int: Alwyn Davey, Jason Winderlich, Heath Hocking, David Meyers
