ESSENDON-bound Joe Daniher kicked seven goals in the Calder Cannons’ 68-point win over the Murray Bushrangers on Sunday.
Daniher is expected to be taken as a father-son selection by the Bombers in this year’s AFL draft.

To some recruiters, he is considered a certain first round selection but Essendon may get a steal under the father-son rule.

It is believed the Bombers see him as a key forward but he is unearthing skills that show he is capable of playing in other positions on the field.

Bendigo’s Jake Stringer, in his first game for the season,  kicked 10 goals in the Pioneers’ mammoth 100-point win over the Northern Knights. This amount was later revised to nine goals following an AFL Victoria review.

Stringer is regarded as one of the most promising young forwards in the competition.
