Football Nation’s daily feature, Monday through to Friday, providing our readers with a quick update of news from around the league.

Adelaide:
Coach Brenton Sanderson has added incentive to keep his home neat and tidy: his landlord is Chad Cornes.

Brisbane:
When the Brisbane Lions stared into their crystal ball at last week’s NAB AFL Draft, they saw a skinny West Australian dashing along a wing and kicking goals in years to come.

Carlton:
Relaxing on his 80-foot boat on Hamilton Harbor, multi-award winning Gold Coast developer Noel Mewett has more than enough time to reflect on his life and times as a Carlton footballer.

Collingwood:
Premiership midfielder Dayne Beams has opened up to CollingwoodTV’s Nick Hulett about his decision to step down from the 2011 Grand Final side due to injury.

Essendon:
Jason Winderlich welcomes midfielder Elliott Kavanagh to the club as the latest batch of youngsters arrive at Windy Hill.

Fremantle:
Senior development coach Simon Lloyd has defended the club’s decision to draft non-WA players and says Zac Dawson is still not a done deal.

Geelong:
The Cats have sprung a major recruiting surprise, rookie listing a 20-year-old middle distance runner who hasn’t played football since he was 14.

Greater Western Sydney:
CEO David Matthews says he is considering lobbying the AFL to have the wages of recruiter Phil Scully removed from the club’s salary cap.

Gold Coast:
The bad news for Henry Schade is the Gold Coast Suns will no longer give AFL games to draftees just to have a look at them.

Hawthorn:
Brad Hill had hoped to join brother, Stephen, at Fremantle, but playing alongside boyhood idol Cyril Rioli is more than adequate.

Melbourne:
The club has thrown Geelong Falcons big man Jai Sheahan a lifeline ahead of next month’s rookie draft inviting him to train with the Demons over the next fortnight.

North Melbourne:
Three North Ballarat Roosters players have become Kangaroos — at least for training. Oliver Tate, Marcus Darmody and Liam Hoy have been given official permission to take part in AFL training with North Melbourne.

Port Adelaide:
For the Power, Chad Wingard was the star pick, Brendon Ah Chee the project selection and Nathan Blee the insurance policy.

Richmond:
Tigers midfielder Shane Edwards has emerged as the star performer in the early weeks of Richmond’s pre-season.

St Kilda:
The Saints are tipped to rookie list former Melbourne player Danny Hughes at next month’s draft.

Sydney Swans:
SydneySwans.com.au features a detailed pre-season review of the club.

West Coast:
The Eagles welcomed over 500 of their biggest fans to Perth Zoo on Saturday for the Rookie Eagles End of Year Party.

Western Bulldogs:
A hyped challenge to the Bulldogs board has amounted to nothing, with board vacancies set to be filled unopposed.
