UPDATE: Carlton midfielders put hand up for recall

CARLTON midfielders Ed Curnow, Kane Lucas and Andrew Collins have pushed hard for a senior return ahead of next Friday night’s crunch match against Collingwood.
Lucas racked up 19 disposals in the first half for the Northern Blues yesterday, while Collins and Curnow had 15 touches apiece to the main break.
Curnow finished the match with 34 disposals, Lucas with 32 and Collins with 27.
Bret Thornton finished with four goals for the match and could also be in contention for a recall given the Blues injury concerns down back with Michael Jamison copping a shoulder injury in the loss to the Hawks, on top of Lachie Henderson’s injury which he remains in doubt for this week.
The injuries could also hand talented young defender Andrew McInnes in his first game after his fifth consective impressive performance in the VFL.
The Northern Blues have changed coaches with Darren Harris now filling in for the final nine matches after Robert Hyde stepped down citing time constraints.
Hyde saw the Carlton-listed players for a mere 20 minutes each week. He was employed only as a part-time coach.
The VFL Blues are currently on the bottom of the ladder with one win and lost emphatically to Box Hill at Box Hill City Oval yesterday.
