THE Western Bulldogs were too classy for Hawthorn when it mattered most on Sunday at Etihad Stadium with a 16-point win.

Of course the win was made more cohesive for the Bulldogs with Barry Hall booting six goals in the 14.16 (100) to 12.12 (84) win.
Coach Rodney Eade admitted the Bulldogs still have a lot of improvement in them.

“We’ve got a lot of improvement to do, there’s no doubt, and that’s okay. That’s fine,” he said.

“A lot of players have been patchy although most of them at some stage have done something over the three weeks; they’ve not completely bereft of form.

“Certainly, as a unit, we’re not playing at 100 per cent at the moment.

“We had a bit of a wake-up call at halftime and we needed it. We started to win the ball and we were only let down in the end by the goal-kicking, which was really disappointing.”

Would have thought that the Hawks were nearly as wasteful and have as much if not more improvement potentially left in them (both with players to return and as they had a much younger, more inexperienced side that will improve with game time. Dogs were 2.5+ years older then the Hawks and 45 games (on average per player)).
