GEELONG football manager Neil Balme says son of a gun Nathan Ablett can make it back into the AFL.
Balme told The Sunday Age that Ablett was always good enough at the top level to succeed.
”We always thought he was a very talented player, and certainly he is not too old,” Balme said
Ablett told The Sunday Age today in an exclusive interview that he would like to play AFL again after being delisted by Gold Coast.
He signed at the Werribee Tigers in the VFL this week.
”A big reason why I still want to continue on with football is … I would like to play AFL again, but for now I suppose I just want to play in a good league and just start to enjoy my footy, and not think too far ahead about whether I am going to play in a top level or not,” Ablett said. ”I’m pretty keen just to get back to enjoying my footy and just relaxing and having some fun. And I suppose in the VFL, playing for Werribee would give me the best opportunity if an AFL club wanted to pick me up,” he said.
