Adelaide’s Daniel Talia gets the Rising Star nod for Round 12

DEFENDER Daniel Talia had a great game against St Kilda on Friday night and has been rewarded with the NAB Rising Star nomination for Round 12.
Talia, Adelaide’s first pick in the 2009 Draft (#13 overall), had modest stats on the night with only seven touches but was a key player in the Crows defence as they shut down Nick Riewoldt during the Saints’ spirited 4th quarter rally.
Talia was a key performer in an effort that kept Riewoldt to just nine disposals and two goals but he is the first to acknowledge Riewoldt’s calf problems played a part in his quiet night.
“Opposition teams always have their go-to forward and I knew when the game got tight it was going to come to Nick a lot. I was trying to lock him down as much as possible and stop him from getting the ball,” Talia said.
